A photoresistor, light dependent resistor (LDR), cadmium sulfide (CdS) cell, photoconductor, or photocell is a variable resistor whose resistance depends on the amount of light incident upon it. In other words, its resistance will be high in the dark and low in the light. Tokenchina's PGM series are specified for light-sensitive switching devices, security alarms, street lamps, and clock radios. Application of CdS photoresistor specific designs also available including different photo resistance and response time specifications adjusted to resistance requirements.
